Business in Basketball - bInb event
Last week, the Brighton Phoenix Flames hosted their inaugural Business in Basketball day to introduce the beautiful game to the local business community. Two company teams registered to play with two club teams. So, we were looking forward to finding some hidden talent! We started with a group training session to warm up and introduce the basic rules to anyone new to the game. We practised some skills used in game situations and had a circuit of skills exercises so they could record results against their colleagues! We were amazed by their energy and enthusiasm, and some of them could definitely play! When we put them against our boys teams they actually won, with height and speed we couldn’t match! Bring on the re-match!
We received some great feedback from the teams involved. Some had never played before and were amazed by how much fun (and hard work) it was! Some fancied themselves as the next Kobe Bryant and we catered for all abilities and egos on court by presenting some awards for their efforts. All in all, we had a really good day and will hope to do it again soon. We have also now gained regular club members from this group!
For a small donation (£100 minimum), employers can send a group of enthusiastic people to try out basketball, receive a complimentary coaching session with our qualified coaches, and some friendly competition against our club members and other companies involved. This is a great team building opportunity and we can tailor the session to you at a time and date that suits.
We also have regular club sessions for children and adults to join throughout the year at venues across Brighton and Hove.
